Atlanta, GA – Yesterday, President Donald Trump signed a new Executive Order that will protect children with gender dysphoria from chemical and surgical mutilation. The Order states that it will neither fund, sponsor, promote, assist, nor support medical interventions such as puberty blockers or surgeries meant to so-called “transition” a child to the opposite sex.
Dr. Jill Simons, Executive Director of the American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) released the following statement in response:
“The American College of Pediatricians applauds President Trump on his bold defense of vulnerable children from mutilating procedures in the name of gender ideology. ACPeds has been sounding the alarm for years on the physical, emotional, and psychological harms of these mutilating procedures on children. Thank you President Trump for protecting children! Children are beautiful just the way they are. No child is born in the wrong body.”
Dr. Michael Artigues, President of ACPeds added:
“The American College of Pediatricians recognizes this as a major step toward ending harmful medical interventions on minors. It reaffirms a commitment to healthy, ethical, and evidence-based pediatric care—an approach long advocated and practiced by all members of ACPeds. It is essential to emphasize the importance of protecting youth and providing comprehensive, quality psychological support to all children struggling with gender dysphoria. This requires collective efforts to promote and expand access to such care.”
ACPeds has worked tirelessly to raise the alarm bells on the dangers of chemical and surgical mutilation on children. We made biologicalintegrity.org available, a reliable medical resource on the topic of gender dysphoria for parents, teens, physicians, schools, and policymakers. We have also launched the Doctors Protecting Children Declaration (doctorsprotectingchildren.org), calling on prominent U.S. medical organizations to stop pushing protocols for “transing” kids.

The American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) is a national medical association of licensed physicians and healthcare professionals who specialize in the care of infants, children, and adolescents. It was founded by a group of concerned physicians who saw the need for a pediatric organization that would not be influenced by the politically driven pronouncements of the day. The mission of the ACPeds is to enable all children to reach their optimal physical and emotional health and well-being. The ACPeds is committed to fulfilling its mission by producing sound policy, based upon the best available research, to assist parents and to influence society in the endeavor of childrearing.
