Call for Nominations
Do you, or someone you know, want to serve on the Board of Directors of the American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds)?
Why?
ACPeds advocates for policies that promote the optimal health and well-being of all children. We are pro-child, pro-health and pro-science. Serving on the Board provides an opportunity to actively stand with others for the common good and to embrace fellowship with many fine professional men and women who share our common values. And there will even be some learning in the process!
What?
The Board of Directors of ACPeds is responsible for the governance of our organization and must also assist with the production of our educational and advocacy materials. This requires that you commit a portion of your time, talent and treasure beyond that of ACPeds members at large. Primary duties include:
Board meetings. Attendance is required at quarterly Board meetings. Two of these meetings are held virtually via ZOOM and the other two at in-person, usually in Atlanta. Travel and lodging for the in-person Board meetings are at your own expense.
Committee participation. Dedicating your time and talent on committees is necessary to generate much of the formal “output” of the ACPeds. Time commitment varies from a few hours a week to a few hours per month depending upon the specific goals of the committees.
Financial commitment. Board members are expected to donate from their treasure beyond that of annual membership dues. Many current Board members have set up automatic donations at various intervals.
How long?
Term of office: 3 years. Elected by the Board of Directors.
